Pony nostalgia

April 27, 2011

Today marks the two month anniversary of discovering a herd of ponies huddling in an abandoned building near my office. They disappeared just as mysteriously a mere two weeks later.

My company gave out new smart phones for Passover, and when transferring all the old data to the new device, I found this picture and sighed longingly for the brief window of time when adorable Israeli ponies greeted me every morning on the way to work and snuffled gently as I passed them late at night when heading home:

On a brighter note, it took months of wondering aloud about the fate of these ponies to finally arouse the interest of apathetic coworkers who had been oblivious and then dismissive of their existence. It warms my heart to know that people who used to insist my curiosity was a waste of energy now pay attention to what’s going on around them and make a point to update me when they see any livestock in the greater Tel Aviv area.
