Typos and Israeli embassies in the Middle East

September 11, 2011

After the Israeli embassy in Cairo was attacked this weekend, I’ve been glued to the news to keep up with the latest developments. When I saw the headline “Jordan: Activists call for mass march on Israeli Embassy in Amman,” I immediately clicked to read more and ended up even more confused and worried:

Israeli embassy march remains unclear due to potential ynet typo

Does this mean the Jordanian media doesn’t know who — the attacked Israelis or the attacking Jordanians — the security forces would “handle” should the Israeli embassy be attacked? Or are security forces equally baffled by how they should enforce the Vienna Convention? Either way, I’m worried about more than a potential typo.

If it makes you feel any better, the typos I find in Hebrew texts are usually worse.
