The futility of not-kosher-for-Passover matzo meal: Part 2
A few weeks before Passover, I remarked that there was no kosher-for-Passover matzo meal to be found at local stores. Thinking perhaps we had planned to stock up on supplies too far in advance to get the batches of Passover-friendly staples, I embarked on round two of Passover shopping the day before ליל הסדר (leil ha-seder, the first night of Passover when families eat a big meal together) to see if the extra-kosher stuff was now available. It wasn’t. Of all the products I saw, only one — a can of chicken broth — was labeled kosher for Passover.
Evidence (click for larger versions to read the fine print):
Next year we’ll either have stuff shipped or brought over from Israel, or stock up next time we’re in a part of the country with a Jewish community and hopefully more selection.
