Blog posts about France

Notre Dame, Paris, photographed from an untouristy angleFrance was my first love. In sixth grade I begged my parents to let me take French lessons, and they humored me. For some reason I was determined to move to France and live in a castle for the rest of my life. Figuring out how one went about acquiring a castle in which to live didn’t seem to be as much a priority as learning the language, which is probably why I maintained my goal for many years.

Fast forward to grad school when an old friend from home moved to Paris for work, and suddenly I had a reason to visit frequently for substantial lengths of time. It helped that this old friend and I fell in love and eventually got married. Then he decided to move back to Israel, his official native land, which brings us back to the present.
